1.5 Alive and Thrive Campaign Launch: Pacific Voices, Pacific Action, for Our Future The science is clear, and science matters. To avert the worst impacts of climate change and preserve a liveable planet, global warming needs to be limited as much as possible and as a matter of urgency. Under the Paris Agreement, countries agreed to substantially reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. We need 1.5°C to save our Pacific Islands, however our Pacific Islands people don't just want to stay alive, they also deserve to thrive - hence our call for 1.5 to Stay Alive and Thrive. To ensure this call for a 1.5°C world remains at the forefront of global conversation, and to help empower the world to remain on the path of meeting the promise of the Paris Agreement, the Pacific Islands through the support of SPREP will embark on a 1.5 Alive Thrive Campaign. Supported by our partners, this campaign will magnify the call for 1.5 to Stay Alive and Thrive at our Pacific regional level, so it becomes a groundswell of Pacific-led solutions and collective call for action to those beyond our region. This campaign will continue to support our Pacific Islands as they work with our global community to ensure we all achieve a 1.5 world together, for our future. It's still achievable. Together we can do it.
