Beyond the Frameworks: Pacific Leadership in Delivering Climate Mobility Solutions

Pacific Climate Mobility Partnerships Programme Partners

Watch Live

Showcasing how Pacific countries are translating climate mobility commitments into action through evidence, finance, rights-based and culturally appropriate approaches, and regional cooperation. As COP31 shifts the global focus from commitments to implementation, the Pacific is demonstrating that climate mobility is not merely a challenge to be managed, but a pathway for advancing adaptation, resilience, human rights, and sustainable development. Through the Pacific Regional Framework on Climate Mobility (PRFCM) and its Implementation Plan, Pacific Island countries are translating policy commitments into practical action that responds to the realities faced by communities on the frontlines of climate change. This side event will highlight Pacific leadership in implementing the PRFCM and showcase how climate mobility is increasingly being recognized as an investment priority, not just a policy issue. It will demonstrate how practical actions are being advanced through the Framework's five Priority Action Areas, including efforts to strengthen community resilience, support planned relocation, and improve climate mobility governance. The event will further demonstrate how climate mobility action contributes directly to broader Pacific priorities, including climate resilience, climate finance and Pacific-led climate action. It will elevate Pacific voices, experiences, and solutions within global climate discussions while strengthening partnerships among governments, regional organizations, UN agencies, development partners, and communities. Importantly, it will identify opportunities for greater cooperation and investment in climate mobility solutions and promote global learning from Pacific experiences in translating climate mobility commitments into tangible outcomes for communities.
