Bringing together civil society leaders from the Pacific, Australia, and Türkiye, this panel explores how non-government collaboration across COP31's unique host partnership have aligned expertise, bridged regional perspectives, and driven ambitious domestic and multilateral policy to uphold the 1.5°C target. As the first COP delivered through a multi-country co-hosting model, COP31 has created a unique environment for creative diplomacy and practical cooperation by the Pacific, Australia and Türkiye. Echoing this diplomatic cooperation, this session will bring together Pacific, Australian and Turkish civil society leaders to reflect on how they have navigated this complex architecture to supercharge their respective governments ambition. Speakers will reflect on the constructive collaborations that have developed between non-government organisations working across the COP31 host partnership. The panel will explore how non-state actors can effectively align, mobilise expertise, share knowledge, bridge regional perspectives, and leverage civil society networks to build domestic and international policy momentum and elevate 1.5°C ambition across both the negotiation and action agendas. Bringing together Pacific, Australian and Turkish non-government leaders, the session will highlight how non-state actors have collaborated to support multi-country governance for COP31. Panellists will share how they have played a critical role in driving demand and advocacy for domestic and multilateral ambition on climate action, bridging top-down targets with localised action, and strengthening participation and ambition across the negotiation and action agendas.
