Building community climate resilience through innovative water security interventions The Federated States of Micronesia has over 600 islands, most of which are low-lying remote islands. Many of these islands suffer from water shortages compounded by sea level rise causing saltwater intrusion that damage water lenses. These islands are prone to climate impacts and risks. However, the fact that there is no regular sea transportation to these remote low-lying islands makes access to food, water and health care a challenge. This water security project works with communities on these 6 islands to develop innovative approaches to address their water security which consequently affects their food and health.
