This side event discuss how Pacific-led climate innovations can be scaled from successful pilot initiatives to sustainable, locally led climate action through partnerships, capacity development, and improved access to climate finance The Pacific is home to a wide range of innovative climate solutions, from traditional knowledge and nature-based approaches to climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, and community-led adaptation initiatives. While many of these innovations have demonstrated positive results, significant barriers remain in scaling them into sustainable, long-term actions that can benefit communities across the region. This side event will explore what makes climate solutions truly fit for purpose in Pacific Small Island countries and how governments, communities, the private sector, academia, and development partners can work together to accelerate their implementation and replication. Drawing on lessons from the PCCC-ISPCCR Project (Partnership between government of Samoa, PCCC/SPREP and JICA) and experiences from Pacific climate innovators, the discussion will highlight practical approaches to strengthening the Pacific climate innovation ecosystem through capacity development, mentoring, knowledge sharing, partnerships, and improved access to climate finance. The event will provide a platform to share successful Pacific-led solutions, discuss barriers and opportunities for scaling innovation, and identify actions needed to transform promising ideas into impactful and sustainable climate action
