To present the Pacific Pact on Gender and Climate Action to the global COP31 community as the Pacific's own contribution to implementing the Belem Gender Action Plan, and to call on international partners governments, climate funds and the broader international community to align their support behind it, consistent with the Pact's own call in its closing paragraph. Endorsed by Pacific Leaders at the 55th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders' Meeting in September 2026 and launched regionally at Pre-COP31 in Fiji, the Pacific Pact on Gender and Climate Action now comes to COP31 the moment the Pacific presents its commitment to the full global climate community. The Pact commits Pacific Leaders to lead implementation of the Belem Gender Action Plan through Pacific-defined evidence, women's leadership in climate decision-making, and gender-responsive climate finance, with an ocean dimension running through all three. It is announced at COP31 with Australia and Türkiye as co-presidency partners.
